Performance Care and Training
Performance is one of those elusive attributes everyone likes to think they pursue, but few really know what it really is. HPR looks at it as something everyone should strive for, and we want for you to know the reasons why it is worth the effort .
Performance means not being in pain and able to do everything you want to at your best. Whether you are a "weekend warrior" or a professional athlete, the goal is to be well, live well and enjoy achieving your best.
For the professional athlete, this means a much higher and complex level than a dedicated "desk jockey." Regardless, the overall goals is to be stronger, faster, quicker, and go longer. To achieve that goal, it is not just putting in hard work into an exercise plan. What it should mean for you is to implement a plan which gets you where you need to be and then is able to sustain that momentum and quality of life for a lifetime. For many people, the plan they put into action is scattered and unorganized. For others, the plan may be focused, but the work involved may be breaking them and tearing them down.
The question for you is this: how do you know what you are doing is the most effective plan for you?
Performance means having a high level of athleticism which is the fine balance of all the factors:
A power lifter has different aspects of athleticism that must be developed than a figure skater or a marathoner requires to be successful. Each athlete needs to know the fundamental aspects which we have listed above. Conversely, unbalanced athleticism is an injury waiting to happen. At HPR we help athletes identify their weaknesses, learn how to target them, and obliterate them.
The process of enhancing an athlete starts with evaluation, identifying those weaknesses as well as injuries already incurred. Most often this is cumulative trauma that expresses itself as tightness and less than optimal, healthy soft tissues. HPR has a team of practitioners who work to fix those areas that need immediate attention so the athlete can get results quickly and successfully.
We have multiple treatment programs and technology, including Active Release Techniques for fixing cumulative trauma, chiropractic therapy for alignment issues, movement therapy to optimize movement patterns, or ARP Wave Therapy to speed up healing. Whatever the need, we recognize and create the right strategy and then move effectively to gain results. The reason why we use multiple treatment programs and technology is because we strategically implement the most effective solutions, without limiting ourselves to one particular approach.
Our team of highly trained and skilled experts, which includes of doctors, coaches, and therapists, develops a specialized strategy to target weaknesses by recognizing high-payoff areas of training, and educating the athlete on all aspects of their training. This strategy includes physical training, nutrition, sleep and recovery, and developing a performance mindset. Then training begins with frequent assessment and tracking to make sure you are getting the result you want - PERFORMANCE!
